How does Food Hub delivery work?

2. After placing your Food Hub order request your delivery by clicking the 'Order Food Hub Delivery' button above. All deliveries must be booked by Tuesday.
What is the Cape Breton Food Hub?
The Cape Breton Food Hub makes it easy to get local food from producers to consumers. We provide the infrastructure and distribution to link over 40 food producers with households and restaurants across the island. Each week our producers list their products and consumers order on-line between Friday and Monday. Then on Thursdays consumers will be able to pick up their fresh items from one of our centrally located hubs. Products include vegetables, meat, seafood, baked goods, and value-added products from across Cape Breton. We also engage in educational and social activities to build a more resilient and connected community around food! You can learn more about the Cape Breton Food Hub here.
What is the delivery price?
For the pilot, delivery is $5 + HST
Where do you deliver food Hub orders?
During the pilot the delivery zone will encompass most of Sydney and some surrounding communities. View the delivery map to see if your address is within the delivery area.
Will the delivery zone exapand to include other communities?
During the pilot the delivery zone may change based on demand from Food Hub members.
What time will I receive my Food Hub order?
CB Eats drivers will be delivering Food Hub orders between 6pm and 7pm each Thursday.
What if I will not be home to receive the delivery?
If you will not be home to receive your delivery, you can make prior arrangements with CB Eats by emailing
What if I am missing items?
If an item is missing from your order, please contact the Cape Breton Food Hub directly.  Food Hub orders are pre-packaged prior to delivery and drivers are unaware of what is in each order.
